I’ve tried free alternatives and paid alternatives like MenuTab for Youtube (which for the record is broken, I haven’t gotten it to play any videos in weeks) and I find this to be the best yet, which is why I gladly paid for it. It’s not for everyone, especially at this price. I still highly recommend this app though. I’ve gotten around most of the problems by using the browser extension instead of interacting directly with the menu bar icon but it’s a frustrating work around. When it works great it’s a fantastic app that lets you watch/listen to YouTube videos while simultaneously getting out of your way. The developer is very active with maintaing the app and responds almost immediately to all emails but after sending a few bug reports I almost feel like I’m a bother. I honetsly use it everyday however recently I have been having some minor but ultimately annoying problems. This sets TubeG apart from every other YouTube app - TubeG is by far the best app of its kind! You can make your own playlists in TubeG to sort out the content you want to save for later.īeing able to save your stopping place in the video really makes TubeG useful for watching classroom lectures, documentaries, speeches and movies on YouTube. I’ve added the TubeG component to my Google Chrome browser so that if I see something I want to watch later I can click the icon on the Chrome task bar and load the YouTube video in TubeG for saving. In addition to that great feature, it’s a really clean and easy to understand interface. TubeG lets me keep a list of content I want to watch in a completely different app, so that closing the browser (or shutting down the computer) doesn’t make me lose my place. I used to try to watch longer YouTube videos in my web browser, but I would usually close the tab or the browser absent-mindedly, and lose my place. TubeG saves my place when I watch a lecture or documentary on YouTube, so that I can come back at any time and pick up where I left off.
